Arenal is a town located on the east bay of Palma. It is 14 km from the capital Palma and 14 km from the town of Llucmajor. El Arenal was an old fishing village and now it is a popular tourist destination. Its seafront promenade stretches all the way to Son Veri Nou on the east and to Palma city on the west. It is walking distance to the Club Nautico and there are plenty of water sports available. A weekly market is held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in the Plaza Mayor and adjacent streets. El Arenal has two main beaches, Playa del Arenal and Playa Es Caló de Sant Antoni, within 3 km we find the beautiful beach of Cala Blava. Some of the secluded beaches nearby include Caló de ses Lleonardes and Caló Fort. Another recommended visit is the Puig de Randa near the town of Llucmajor where several sanctuaries are located.
